• Sao Tomé und Príncipe, der zweitkleinste Staat Afrikas, liegt an der afrikanischen Westküste im Golf von Guinea und zeichnet sich durch eine immens multilinguale Sprachgemeinschaft aus. Neben der offiziellen Sprache, dem Portugiesisch, existieren drei weitere autochthone Kreolsprachen auf kleinstem Terrain. Die vorliegende Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit einer der Kreolsprachen, dem sog. Forro. Das Forro wird von der Mehrheit der Sao Toméer gesprochen und gilt als nationale Sprache. Die Arbeit beschreibt die Sprachgeschichte, den Spracherwerb sowie die beiden größeren Kapitel der soziolinguistischen Studie, der Sprachstatus sowie der Sprachgebrauch des Forro, werden umfassend dargestellt.
• Sao Tomé and Príncipe is the second smallest country in Africa and is situated at the west coast, in the so-called Gulf of Guinea and has only a size of 1.001 square kilometres and 166.000 inhabitants. But, this small country features a higly multilingual speech community. The official language is Portuguese and is spoken by all the sao-tomense inhabitants and the national languages are the so-called creole languages. There are three of these creoles and the diploma involves one of the creoles, the Forro. The Forro is spoken by the majority of the sao-tomense and the diploma study describes its language history, the language acquisition and the two main capitals describe the language status and the language use of the Forro.
