"Audience Design" - Eine Untersuchung zum sprachlichen Register Gehörloser
"Audience Design" - A Study about Registers of the Deaf
- Signer vary their style according to different situations. The most important element that influences Sign Language production is the adressee. Deaf Signers use different registers for different adessees, because they accommodate their Sign Language production to their audience. If the adressee is hearing or deaf and his or her Sign Language acquisition as a first or a second language does influence a Deaf Signers choice of different linguistic forms.Syntactic and morphological negation is the variable of this study that proves register variation according to hearing and deaf adressees.
