  • This bachelor thesis deals with coping strategies of Chinese urban residents in dealing with smog. First, I want to clarify what stress, stressors and coping are. Then, this thesis relates to stress and coping theories. Afterwards, I want to point out what smog is, what types of smog there are and if you can see the smog as a stressor. Finally, various coping strategies of Chinese Metropolitans are explained (especially in the Beijing metropolitan area) and I am also linking those to previous mentioned stress and coping research.
