Aufgrund der neuen Technik, wie Laptops, Tablets und Smartphones ist es heutzutage möglich sich jederzeit und überall Zugang zum Internet zu verschaffen. Der schnelle und enorme technische Fortschritt zwingt die Benutzer sich während der Kommunikation im Internet schnell und knapp auszudrücken.   • These days many people use social networks, e.g. Facebook or Twitter, to stay in contact with friends. Since the internet came into people's life, cyber language has become one of the most discussing topics in this century. Because of the speed of communication in internet, people are in rush to type their messages properly. So they try to enhance their typing speed by using acronyms or abbreviations and other unique methods. This study presents a comprehensive analysis and discussion of cyber language in China. China was chosen, because Chinese people combine numbers, Chinese and other languages into a fashionable and modern way. But not everyone is pleased with the Chinese cyber language. In the Chinese media, they complain that the young generation forget to write Chinese characters, since smartphones and computers have got a Chinese writing program, where they just need to type letters and have to recognize the correct Chinese character. Moreover, some Chinese students are starting to write and speak cyber language in daily life. Parents are afraid that their kids forget the beauty of the Chinese language. Educators believe this is the beginning of the decay of the Chinese writing system. This study also deals with the questions, whether Chinese writing system van be replaced by an alphabetic writing system and whether the worries of parents and educators are eligible or not.
