  • The aim of the thesis is the conception of a body-worn, person-independent measuring system for recording posture and movement in the work environment as a sub-model of the midasKMU research project. For this purpose, the possibilities of a body-worn system measuring movement and position are shown as well as the anatomical features of the moving joints. Together with the previous results from the research project and the consideration of ergonomic methods as well as currently available systems, a catalog of requirements according to MoSCoW criteria is drawn up. On the basis of the catalog, a theoretical concept for the measurement of relevant data using accelerations sensors will be introduced. The concept for lower extremities is implemented as a prototype and checked using a test movement. The results are compared with the catalog of theoretical requirements. The evaluation of the results is used to improve and expand the theoretical concept. For the outlook of this study, the next steps are presented to make the prototype more precise, more stable and more user-friendly with the intention of making it possible to use in the work environment.
