Die deutsche Rüstungsindustrie - Eine Analyse der gesetzlichen Vorgaben des Exports von Waffen
The German armaments industry - An analysis of the legal requirements of the export of weapons
- Laut einer Studie des SIPRI wird das Volumen des weltweiten Waffenhandels auf 45 Mrd. US
- According to a study by SIPRI, the volume of global arms trade to 45 billion Euros annually. Used and smuggled were these weapons sold on the black market in the third world and contribute there in the killing of approximately 740,000 people per year. Among these victims are innocent civilians of all social classes. The availability of weapons increases the potential for violence, the arbitrary killing and when the abuse of power. This is the breeding ground for organized crime, ruthless warlords who recruit child soldiers, but also for violent protest crackdowns and the large-scale repression of human rights. Also Germany is to blame for the share of the weapons which are around the world. During thelast years it produces clearly more arms. After Russia and China, Germany is now the world's number three largest exporters (2012). With these developments, the question arises whether the rules for export are still effective.
