Realization of a circuitboard-topology to stabilize the current from a traction battery for an electrically driven single-track vehicle

  • In times in which oil is a limited resource, electric mobility wants to represent itself as an alternative to vehicles that use conventional combustion engines. There is, however, a problem. The range of these electric vehicles needs to be increased in order for electric cars and bikes to present a real actual alternative. Therefore it is required to improve the batteries and also to build lighter vehicles. The goal of this thesis is to develop a device which makes it possible to replace the starter battery in an electric motorcycle to gain more space on the one hand and, more importantly, to save weight. In current electrically driven motorcycles starter batteries will be used to stabilize the power consumption of high power components like the anti-lock-brake. If it's possible to replace the conventional battery, the required energy has now to be sourced from the cells of the traction battery. In this work, two topologies of possible circuit designs will be discussed and after choosing the best, one will be developed. This thesis consists of the design of the circuit diagram, as well as the layout and finally soldering the parts onto the PCB. The chosen topology will be adjusted according to results from simulations and implemented in accordance with hardware possibilities. The PCB will be designed in the EAGLE-CAD
